Pretty nice course.
It was late October and the course was a bit shaggy, but otherwise in good shape. Greens were inconsistent speed wise but in good condition for late October. Restaurant food was awesome.
Nice course
The course was in great shape with multi level grass. All was good except for some golfers. I was solo and was stuck behind three guys walking for around four holes until I finally got through and then I got stuck behind a twosome for the final twelve holes. I even met them on multiple tee boxes and they wouldn't let me go around. Some golfers have no courtesy.
What happened to this course
I have played here over the years I on a number of occasions both in tournaments and as a casual round of golf .not been here for a couple years and as my home course was hosting its own tournament I decided to give it a try however the course is truly in terrible shape with poor fairways and equally poor greens. this is a pleasant looking course with some interesting holes.however this is a very disappointing day and some major upgrades renovations maybe even some watering would make a big difference of this golf courseWe will not be back here unless major changes are made.
November Golf!
Very few courses were still open as we should have snow by now. I phoned asking if they could fit a single in and they said they would get me on. When I showed up the course was packed. (15C in Manitoba in November?) As one staff member took my money the other one ran out to the first tee to ask a threesome if I could join them! THAT is service! The course was in great shape for so late in the season but the staff is what made this round so enjoyable (I shot by best round of the year).
One of the top semi-private courses in the Winnipeg area.
Terrific layout. If you play this course once, you'll want to play it again to better position your ball with your new course knowledge. This is easily one of the top courses in Manitoba that the public can play. It's wide enough in places to let you bomb the ball but it also has holes where you need to be accurate. The club house is nice, as well. It's 6551 yards from the whites, with a slope rating of 123. Rates vary from $37 to $47. Well worth the money.
Fairly good conditions but avoid paying rack rate
Bel Acres is a good course just outside the city. Conditions can vary but mid-season they can be quite good. Course doesn't offer much in the way of variety as most holes are straight away, with a few dog legs and no elevation change. Pace of play is usually good although I have never played there on a weekend morning in the summer. Rack rates are quite expensive for what I feel is a very average course. One suggestion is to buy the "Follow the Sun" golf discount book to get a BOGO pass for Bel Acres and save money. All in all, a decent course of adequate length that is close to the city that will test your game.
