Don't be too sure
Greens were in good shape. Fairways seem to be good.I just didn't hit many. Rough was Rough and made you work.
All in all for a 9 hole course a great course to get the use of your clubs and have some fun.
Poor
Needs alot of work before I would recommend it to anyone. Not a people friendly course.
Absolute worst golf experience in twenty years.
I have golfed this course a few times as it is close by and I have never loved the course. It is poorly maintained, the greens are rough and the management is usually not the friendliest. Well it was my birthday yesterday and my kids wanted to spend time with me on the course. I’ve brought them along numerous times to a variety of courses around Manitoba without issue but yesterday when I arrived for my tee time the manager said I would have to pay an additional amount for them to ride in the cart. When I asked why he became incredibly condescending and downright rude. I was taking a cart anyways so it wouldn’t have cost the course anything extra heck it would actually encourage future golfers in my opinion. Additionally there was only one other vehicle in the entire parking lot. After the manager told me that if i didn’t want to play I could stop wasting his time I left even though I had already paid through the Golf Now App. It was a miserable experience overall.
Good time
The course is fun to play and very challenging. I play here a handful of times very year and there are lots of course closer to me than this one. Unfortunitly there is alot of construction going on around the course. The town is expanding big time right now which means there will be a lot more people to go golfing. This also means a bigger budget for the course I expect this course to be very nice in the next few years
Great day
The course is in good shape considering all the rain we have had in the area. The long grass alongside the fairways is a bit much to try and find your ball - but it you can keep it on the fairway no problems!!
Late fall game
Course was good shape for so late in the year
Greens actually were quite minty
Tons of geese around
Good day of golf
Great Practice Golf Course
This course is in great shape for this time of the year.
Frost is here so dress for the weather.
Don't expect perfect fairways and be ready to putt your ball a little harder because of the weather.
Book around and have some fun.
Remember dress for the weather. It is a Links style course.
Golf with practice.
Now that the fall season is here the one thing you don't have to deal with is falling leaves. This Links course is in great shape.
The ground crews have worked hard to keep this course looking and playing like a Links course. Green's will make an easy putt hard and a hard putt even harder. With the fast running greens and rolling slopes . Nothing is a given.
Book around and see if you can read the greens properly.
Beginner's Link
This course will sure make you work to get a good score. Most greens are needing some work on them in the off season. However considering the dry summer we had I'm not surprised. With the right amount of fall rain and a good snow cover the greens will be in great shape next spring. Stay out of the rough or the clover will eat you up.( Just like a link's course should). Fairways are in good shape considering the summer again and the work the ground crew's have done. This course is fun and worth playing. Stay out of the "Sand Pots" to make your game easier. Fall is here but fall leaves are not.
Book around and try out what a Link's Course feels like.
Links for Beginners
This course is in great shape and wonderful to play.
It gives you a great impression of a Links Style Course .
Should be played
1st Visit
A nice place to go outside of the city. They dont have a course map on their score cards yet but ill be back enough to remember this course.
4 par fives on a 9 hole course (par 39)
I expected a links style course to be open terrain but the length of the course really surprised me. Not in good enough shape for low handicappers and too long for high handicap players. To be fair, we played during a heat wave so the course had good reason to be dry and stressed. I might try again after a period of good rain as I think the course layout could be appealing if the course is in good shape.
Family outing
Great place to go for all types of golfers. My wife likes it because she’s just a beginner and it’s only 9 holes and I like it because those nine hole are long and challenging so we both have a good time
Was a good time!
Was a great time at Old Drovers Run! Excellent value for the money and decent difficulty, would recommend for beginners!
