Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in Vancouver boasts is a well-treed, parkland style golf course overlooking the mouth of the Fraser River and Strait of Georgia. While the golf club dates back to 1911, the course was built in 1960. Many of the trees at Shaughnessy were donated by club members and planted when the course was being built, meaning the grounds are populated with well matured foliage including more than 150 species. Shaughnessy has hosted many high profile pro events, including the 2011 Canadian Open. The course is playable most days throughout the year.
