Mayfair Lakes is a popular course, designed by top Canadian golf architect Les Furber, that was once a working farm in the river delta land of Richmond, just south of Vancouver. With water coming into play or view on 13 holes, Mayfair Lakes offers plenty of challenge and choice shots. The course is known for its excellent design, well-conditioned fairways and true greens.

Beautiful course wet rough

The course is absolutely beautiful, fairway to the greens! The only down side is how wet the rough areas were! Nearly lost a shoe a few times! To be fair the fall months here are quite rainy! So if you can stay on the fairways you’ll love this course!

Disappointed

Mayfair is part of GolfBC group which has several course. Two of which include Nick North in Whistler and Furry Creek. What's disappointing about this course is the feel doesn't come close to the others.

They have a nice practice facility, club house and pro shop which is impressive.

After that, I was very frustrated with the pace of play on this course.

I passed through one group only to have another just as slow. Then skipped a hole and then joined with a guy who didn't speak english for the rest of my round.

The members at the course were oblivious to courtesy and basic golf etiquette. Multiple groups had many opportunities to let me through, as I was playing as a single.

It was crazy, one group actually had a 5 year old hitting balls to the green while I sat back and watched for 10 mins, then watched mom take out a club, then rangefinder, then switch club, then stand over ball for a while...and you guessed it, topped the ball as it went 15 yards! I passed this group and went to the next hole and as I drove by they looked at me like I was crazy.

I do not have any patience for this type of atmosphere. Weather you speak english or not, good or bad golfer, above all you should have awareness on the course and etiquette.

I will not be returning to this GolfBC course.

Cost seemed high comparatively and with my experience the value was not very good. It's too bad because we are seeing more and more of this behaviour on various BC golf course especially those around Vancouver.
