The Little Shuswap Indian Band proudly developed the Talk Rock Golf Course and the adjoining Quaaout Lodge. The golf course meanders through a mature, sandy forest along the north shore of the Little Shuswap Lake. The layout closely follows the rugged natural contours of the landscape, which means players will have to use careful strategy in maneuvering the golf course. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. In addition to the challenges it provides, the beautiful landscape offers plenty of scenic respite. The 18th hole is a breathtaking finale that plays right along the lake, but the signature hole is the par-5 seventh, which plays from an elevated tee to a green divided by a ridge down the middle. Talk Rock Golf Course also offers an impressive 18-acre driving range.

Beautiful course… but the conditions dont match the price!

Have played this course for several years - generally a few times each season. Its getting more & more difficult to get a tee time and the course conditions have faltered. Bunker sand was inconsistent and the greens are definitely in need of some TLC.
Having said that, I’m certain staffing issues are a big contributor as they were too short on staff in the restaurant for any menu service after our round as well.
The staff was very friendly and helpful at every interaction, the proshop was well stocked - especially for this time of year.
Will definitely go back & do recommend every golfer visit this course regardless.

A Must Play

Great course - stunning scenery, quiet, great pace of play, friendly staff, and a good challenge. Excellent conditions, very well cared for. I commend the local first nation on an excellent development and well run operation. Restaurant was excellent, and also visited the spa and it was great as well. You won't find a better experience anywhere. Looking forward to the lodge being rebuilt after the tragic fire this year.

Staking a claim as British Columbia's top public track

ScoreGolf - Canada's top golf publication - recently released its Top 59 public courses list and Talking Rock wasn't on it. That's a shame and a sham. If I had to play a course every day, I might pick Talking Rock over Tobiano as the best course in interior British Columbia - maybe. It's certainly more playable and almost as beautiful thanks to two signature lakeview holes - the par-3 15th and par-4 18th.
Much of the layout roams through secluded corridors in the forest. Your foursome might not see another foursome except for maybe at No. 8 and 9, which are only separated by a pond.
Where Talking Stick trumps Tobiano is a pair of great short par 4s, the 326-yard 14th and 289-yard 17th. The 17th is really cool because there's a tiny hidden bunker in the middle of the fairway near the green. It's a cruel twist, thinking you smashed a drive up near the green before finding your ball in the sand. The final hole runs along the gorgeous resort beach back to the Quaaout Lodge, which has been recently refurbished and serves one of the best golf burgers you'll find. Until Tobiano builds a resort hotel, this is the best - and only - golf resort in the Kamloops region.

A nice track through the trees

Excellent pro shop and check in crew. Great practice facility and course conditions. The course runs through the woods with nice separation between holes. The back nine is interesting, climbing up the hillside and then coming back down in the last four holes including the 18th. Definitively a must play in the area and worth the trip to get there.

A course with a view

talking rock has the best views of any golf course in BC. with sevral views of Little Shushwap Lake this course is a must play. the couse is pretty wide open and is favoured to the long driver. The driving range is right beside the first hole so you can warm up until the final seconds before you hop on the course. dont forget your camera cause you will regret it.

Walked

Talking Rock GC

Take the Trans Canada Highway #1 east from Kamloops for about 45 minutes and make a left turn at Little Shuswap Lake. Here you'll find the Quaaout Lodge and Spa at Talking Rock Golf Course. This is as picturesque a setting as any to play. Opened in 2007, towering pines line magnificent fairways and give the impression that the course is more mature than it is. Naturally scenic, this course winds its way through rolling hills, mature trees, with clever placement of water hazards and testing bunkers will offer a challenge to all golfers. Take in the Lodge afterwards, the menu and service is spot on.

Scenic

Talking Rock is a wonderfully scenic course that is one of the gems in the area. The course offers something for all levels of golfer. It is cut through the forest with some great views of the lake below and lots of variety in the holes With a little luck there may even be some wild life stroll across the fairways as well. It compares well with the Salmon Arm Club down the road and should not be missed.

Beautiful Views!

Talking Rock is an extremely picturesque golf course. Very forgiving off the tees though each hole is tree-lined. The elevated 17th tee has one of the most beautiful golf course views in BC so can be difficult to focus back on the green below. Great practice range and very friendly staff.

Upper class! Great place.

Golf trip 2016.
10 guys,
We had a blast. Great range with balls included from our greens fees. chipping area. Some great space for extra work, if needed.
Nice range. good yardage markers.

Course is in fantastic condition. Holes cut through the trees. Deep Pine! Full veriety of style and length. Fun longer holes. I had a Driver off the Deck, and Im a big hitter!
Marshals were a bunch of great old dudes. Giving tips and casually trashing Tobianno. haha. well done chaps.

Overall I thought this was an excellent place. Bigger and more than I expected. We were there on a Sunday at 10;30am. There was a nice brunch buffet i scoped it out, seemed legit. great job.

18th plays along the water, beautiful.
deep rough lines most holes. beware!
