One of the best in the area
The Links at Spruce Grove is not a long course, it plays 6794 yards from the tips but it has 8 tee-box options making it a friendly course for any skill level from scratch players to women and juniors . It was one of the courses in the area that kicked off a golf boom of new courses in the area back in the mid 1980’s before the bomb and gouge game developed. The greens are of medium size with a variety of character, some are flat, some are undulating, most are elevated, all are well bunkered but few require you to carry an approach shot over bunkers or water. The greens are a mix of Bent and Poa Annua grasses which makes them look spotted or patchy but they run true and smooth. There are a variety of holes with no two alike. The fairways roll up and down left and right, rarely giving you a flat lie. They are tree lined and well bunkered, putting a premium on well struck drives. There are several water hazards that are there to intimidated but only come into play on the poorest struck shoots. You will have more trouble with the trees and houses that line the fairways than you will have with the water. They have a large putting green and a full size driving range with grass matts. The pro shop and clubhouse is not huge but offers everything you would need and the food in the restaurant is gourmet quality..
Overall, this is a fun course to play no matter your skill level.
The day we played, we found it to be in excellent condition, with the tee-boxes and fairways lush and green. The greens were smooth and quick, a real treat for this time of year, early summer.
Great course for all skill levels
This is a great course that's kept in excellent condition. The staff are very friendly and the clubhouse restaurant has some of the best food in the area. I definitely recommend this course.
