It seems I&#039;d read Bill Murray was pretty down at one point in his career.
He&#039;d done (Somerset Maugham novel as a film) THE RAZOR&#039;s EDGE, which was a different sort of role.   The film was not a commercial success at the time.   Some have commented that Bill Murray seems a troubled chap in person.

He&#039;s quite good, actually, even in serious roles a bit more recently.
