Even John McCain wouldn't hate GCSAA's blog
Upon learning that Republican Presidential candidate John McCain “hates bloggers” I wasn’t too surprised. After all, when was the last time any blogger brought McCain donuts and coffee just the way he likes them.
Of course, I too have been a blogger-hater in my time. After all, I’ve written more posts mocking Tim Finchem’s insipid blog effort than Tim Finchem (or whoever) has written posts (I think they’re up to about three posts in six months). And my stinging, totally unprovoked attack on the USGA Blog has apparently led the organization just to quit blogging altogether (nothing from them since Jan. 2).
But I must give credit where it is due and give praise to “From the desk of GCM,” The official blog of GCSAA’s Golf Course Management magazine. Endlessly updated by Scott Hollister, Seth Jones and others, the GCSAA blog is truly a winner, giving readers a solid inside look at who they are and what they do. Check out Jones’ posts about his recent trip to New Orleans for some proof.
So while Tim Finchem’s and the USGA’s blogs showcase all that is wrong in the nation, world and even universe, I have no choice but to give some love to the GCSAA, who have shown they understand what blogging is all about. It’s a blog even McCain wouldn’t hate.

And at this point so do I. Hate the economy, that is. As to golf, I love golf. As to blogging, meh, on again off again.
