In an insipid interview with the web site Politico that featured no less than 20 questions about his daughter’s wedding, baseball, American Idol and who does the best impersonation of him, President George W. Bush was hit with a haymaker - Has he stopped golfing?
Q Mr. President, you haven’t been golfing in recent years. Is that related to Iraq?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes, it really is. I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be as – to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.
Q Mr. President, was there a particular moment or incident that brought you to that decision, or how did you come to that?
THE PRESIDENT: No, I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man’s life. And I was playing golf – I think I was in central Texas – and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, it’s just not worth it anymore to do.
Bush has spent more time on vacation than any other president - 453 days to be exact. He’s never attended a slain soldier’s funeral. He’s spent time fishing and endlessly clearing brush on his ranch, and attending his daughter’s lavish wedding, among other things. But golf? Well, that would just send the wrong signal to the thousands killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families.
War supporters take note - put away your golf clubs. It’s just disrespectful.

Q: Mr President - isn't it time we put our heads back in the sand, and ignored the dangers from the rest of the world?
Q: Mr President - why can't you be like Barak Hussein Obama or Hillary Clinton? Don't you want to be LIKED??
But since I'm no "journalist", I'd probably have to ask Mr Bush more of those 'softball' questions like the ones below...
Q: Mr President - why do you provide tax incentives to average Americans...unlike the Democrats who always want to INCREASE our tax burden??
Q: Mr President - is it true we've had a Democratically-controlled Congress since 2006...and our economy is in trouble again?
- "Why do you think tax cuts directed at the wealthiest Americans provide incentives to average Americans?"
- "What evidence do you have that Democrats want to INCREASE our tax burden?"
- "How do you suppose a Democratic president manage to create the largest surplus in history that was turned into the largest deficit in history by a Republican president?"
- "Do you have to practice to be this arrogantly ignorant or does it just come naturally?"
BV: Knock it off. Bush is very likely in the handful of worst presidents of all-time and he has single-handedly awarded the next election to the Democrats. So crawl back into your hole with your Hannity and Coulter and leave the rest of us to handle reality.
Wait... no, that doesn't make any sense. Never mind.
