Golfer Supremacy Rankings: Where winning, or coming close, or being well-sponsored is what matters
Here at the Golfer Supremacy Rankings, winning is the most important thing. Sure, you may have won big titles before, but unless you win TODAY, well, we think you suck.
Unless, you happen to be a 16-year-old girl. Then, coming close to winning is more than enough for us.
Golfer Supremacy Rankings
1. Ben Curtis
Comments: After rain forced postponement of the final round, Curtis takes his 900-shot lead into Monday’s final few holes of the Booz Allen Classic. Curtis, who had to listen to “when are you going to win again, anyway” for nearly three full years since winning the 2003 British Open, is 923-under par heading into Monday play. Padraig Harrington is in second place at 15-under.
2. Michelle Wie
Comments: With the U.S. Women’s Open coming up, the opening salvos have been fired in the media blitz leading up to Wie’s opening tee shot. The 16 year old has high expectations for herself at the LPGA’s third major of 2006, especially should Nike’s request of “banning putting” be accepted by increasingly lonely LPGA boss Carolyn Bivins.
3. (South Korean golfer)
Comments: (South Korean golfer) was fantastic, holding off a field that included several of her countrywomen to win the Wegmans LPGA. (South Korean golfer) is the eighth different South Korean golfer to win in 16 LPGA events this year.
“I am very happy,” said (South Korean golfer) following her victory.
Random factoid: While you were reading this, Phil Mickelson thought of the final hole at the U.S. Open at Winged Foot a total of 23, no, 24 times.
Random factoid II: Following a dismal 2-1 loss to Ghana which sent the U.S. team home from the World Cup, U.S. star Landon Donovan takes his spot as the Michelle Wie of soccer - Lots of potential, awe-inspiring ability and no wins of significance. Of course, Wie will win something soon enough. At 24, without a complete transfusion of his inner fortitude, Donovan won’t.
Random thought: The Golfer Supremacy Rankings totally needs a logo. Someone send one in.

"TravelGolf.com"-Choose your words carefully to avoid seeming racist.
I grew up with racism all my life in South Africa and it annoys me immensely to see that it still exists in the 21st Century.
I am referring to your analysis of South Korean Golfers-
Quote
"Still, it appears that the LPGA needs a Sorenstam comeback even more than Annika does. Half the LPGA tournaments this year have been won by South Korean golfers, who balance their imposing skills with virtually no personality whatsoever."
Unquote
I am a great fan of Annika and she has been great for the ladies tour but I would never use the term "us".
Get your act together and smell the coffee.
I think we all understand your company and what they stand for-thank you
A Reddy
