First came the Internet, and the ability to transfer information. And it was good. Then the porn came. Lots and lots of porn. And people said that was bad, but most of them were lying and are still thrilled about it, and wondering who to thank.
In between the information and the porn, however, since the Internet became available, people have used it as a place to congregate. Web sites like MySpace and Orkut created huge communities where people could find like-minded cyber pals.
As these sites did nothing to curb the endless torrent of porn, everyone seemed to agree these sites were mostly a good thing. Now, thanks to Tony Korologos, golfers have a meeting place of their own at The Golf Space.

“I basically started TGS because I saw the popularity of those other networking sites and knew that no one had done it for the golf world,” said Korologos, who also runs the Hooked on Golf Blog Web site, among others. “I wanted to be the first.”
With the site just opening up for business this week, it appears Korologos was on to something – after just three days, The Golf Space has had more than 8,000 hits and 180 new members who have posted nearly 150 articles and blogs. Golfers from around the globe have jumped on board, including members now from Australia, Malaysia, Germany, U.S., Canada, Italy, UK, Austria and Thailand, among others.
Korologos explained his vision for TGS in a recent blog. Basically, what has been created is a place for people to connect with friends both new and old, as well as business associates, at a Web site geared toward golf.
Also, TGS sets up its users with their own space on the Internet, so that anyone can write blogs about any golf topic that happens to be on their mind, plus many other interesting features.
And the best part? It’s free to sign up.
So head on over to The Golf Space and take a look. It’s a great place to introduce yourself to other golf lovers and to many of the golf bloggers out there, as well as all its other bells and whistles.
Surf over and you’ll likely discover that, for a golfer, it’s a place with something for everyone. And don’t worry, the porn will still be there when you get back.
