Curious about golf gear for '09? PGA Show's Demo Day has answers

Tuesday January 27, 2009 | 12:39:47 pm 162 words, 1587 views

So what’s hot and shiny and new for golf this year? Heck if I know, that’s why I’m headed to Orlando for the PGA Merchandise Show (click for preview story).

First stop … Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge (more than 90 companies are expected to play their wares there), and I’m curious about a few things I’ve already heard …

Has Titleist really improved the Pro V1?

What about this new Nike ball?

What’s the deal with Cleveland Golf re-launching its popular Launcher driver after all these years?

Can driver faces get any bigger?

Can I find a set of irons that actually hit greens?

Will this next generation of satellite/laser/atomic yardage devices show me movie trailers and dispense beverages while I aim it at the flagstick?

Kidding on that last one. Sort of.

Let me know what you might be curious about. I’ll take requests while bloggin’ on-site all week.
