In response to: "The Best Way To Practice Your Golf Swing"

I believe the only way to improve your golf swing is spending sometime on the practice range.
Practice dos'nt make perfect it makes permanent in grooving a swing. If you have any bad swing flaws it compounds it into mishitting shots all over the golf course.
When practicing you should work on one part of your game and stay with it until you do have confidence in your ability. Working with swing trainer aids can be helpful in improving your swing.

Sorry but I have to agree with the others.
You can't criticise something and then not take the
time to explain what's wrong with it. Stack and tilt certainly appears to work - or certainly has. Mike Weir definately used it and hasn't disappeared overnight. Other players have WON ON TOUR using it which means that others could definately follow. Just because some big names have moved away from it doesn't mean that they haven't retained a certain degree of the mechanics. Lots of players appear more stacked now than ever before - I'm sure I even saw Tiger favouring his left side more :)

Hey Marc, there goes the changing of the guard. All the big dogs are loosing there stables to the new breed. Good luck on the ranting, it gets people nowere fast. Ask Tiger about his foot work and were he gets his information on that over the last year.

In response to: "How Easy Do You Make Your Golf Swing?"

Th 9 ways told by you to swing are very good. I would like to add that your body weight control is very important. While swinging your front feet must bear around 20% of your body weight and the rest by your back foot.

Hey Mr S,

Nice blod. Tiger is the best golfer... period. Yes,
he is the best athlete on tour. Yes... he shoots to
excel. Yes... he has one of the most dynamic and
powerful swings on tour. And YES... I would take
golf tips from a stranger. Interesting how you slam
it and then give us some good ones to go by.

Absolutely correct! If everybody worked on their flaws just think of how many golfer would actually improve their score instead of just bemoaning the fact they can't lower their handicap.

Tom Fazio is definitely one of the best designers in the game. Strategy is the most fun part of the game of golf.

Looks like an interesting offer - I'm all for making golf simpler...

I agree completely with Sanin. Casual golfers heads are already being filled with so much garbage, that this type of thing just confuses people more.

Go by what works guys. Practice, practice, practice.

"I think it depends on how one defines "different swing." The differences are subtle, but they exist."

I agree with Judge Smails. It all comes down to your definition of "different". Fundamentally you swing all your clubs the same: weight shift, good tempo, solid swing center, proper uncoil, etc, but to say that you "feel" the same swinging a PW and a driver is ridiculous.

Your swing thought WILL BE and SHOULD BE different. More wrist hinge early for the wedge, wider backswing with a driver; more stable lower body for the wedge (since you COULD turn more due to the narrow stance but you SHOULD not), 60-40% weight distribution at the takeaway for the driver, etc...

You might even have a perceptible swing plane shift with the driver (see Tiger) while it's much harder to see "dropping in the slot" with the wedge due to inherently different angle of the swing plane.

If you would hinge your wrists when hitting a driver like you do when hitting a wedge the ball would go nowhere.

I believe that this "one swing for all" fallacy is the biggest reason while weekend players can't hit long clubs. Just standing more upright and further away from the ball will not result in a required sweeping motion if your swing thought is the wedge swing thought (hit down sharp).

So yes and yes: the swing is the same for each club (fundamentally) except it's somewhat different in thought and practice :-)

this "supposed" guru called Iteachgolf calls himself that because he does, in fact, teach golf. We shouldn't listen to him but we should listen to you?

Wow...nice effort sure glad that lady took advice from a stranger...wait she wasn't supposed to do that. I'm confused, should we listen to strangers with golf advice or not?

BTW since Toger started changing his swing away from the swing of 1997-2001 he has dropped an average of 10% in Fairways hit, he has also dropped over 9% average in greens hit.

Being the best golfer doesn't mean you have the best golf swing. It means you post the best scores consistently.

The next time you criticize somebody for pointing out something that even a blind monkey can see (viz. Tigers swing has become less consistent as he has moved towards a timing based golf swing), feel free to man up and apologize when the numbers show you to be an idiot.

Way to go Mr. Solomon. Open your trap on Tiger playing great, and then everything iteachgolf says becomes blatantly obvious. On top of all that, you break your own advice by giving a tip to some stranger.
