Dear Golf Magazine,
Thank you for the letter you sent me about induction onto your Top-100 Instructor list. Though please accept this letter as my refusal to be viewed as a Top-100 Instructor. To just about every Golf Professional in the world, it would be an honor to be on your list. For me – it’s not!
I have a love-hate relationship with your magazine – meaning at times I love all the Golf Tips you produce and at other times I hate all the Golf Tips you produce.
Now I don’t love your Golf Tips because they’re good tips, I love them because they’re so bad and misinforming that they’re messing up a million Golfers every year so bad with all your contradicting information that eventually the Golfers find their way to see us at Golf Made Simple – www.GolfMadeSimple.com.
I mean tips like one that a golfer that came to see us asked us about a tip he read from one of your Top-100 Instructors that advised Golfers to swing differently when your ball was on different types of fairway grasses. He said you needed to swing different on a Northern fairway that uses Bent Grass and a Southern Fairway that uses Bermuda Grass.
How does that make sense since you should be hitting the ball first anyway? But, again I love these Tips from your Top-100 Instructors because Golfers from around the world take them as seriously as if they came from the Holy Scriptures, and because these Golfers become so confused by this nonsence that they come to us to see and feel better results.
Though at the same time I get really mad that all these Golfers trust you with their golf games and you continually give them false information. In a way, you’re like Enron for Golfers!
I know Golf Professionals that would give up their left arm to be on your Top-100 list - in this industry you’re viewed by 23,999 out of 24,000 Golf Professional to be the equivalent of winning The Academy Award for Best Actor or Actress.
To this Golf Professional that has a company that sees over 1,000 Golfers from around the world every year – who come to see us 8 hours a day for 3 days at a time - that are frustrated playing inconsistent golf that can be attributed to reading tips that are not based on helping Golfers improve as much as they’re based on selling magazines – being on your list is not something I would be proud of.
