I have not played this course personally but have heard good reports about the back nine especially.

I just got back from Scotland and was lucky enough to get on the Old Course. I arrived at 8:30 and teed off at 9:40. I was a single and me and another guy got paired up with a twosome. It was a Thursday and a beautiful sunny day so I got lucky. Be polite and courteous to the starter and don’t leave the area. If you are coming from the states make sure to mention you have come a long way to fulfill a dream. Don’t bother the starter but make sure he sees you hanging around. Don’t forget your USGA card because he will ask to see it. Good luck.

Showed up as a single noon June 30. Asked the starter if there was any chance a single could get a game . A half hour later I spied a threesome on the first tee that was part of a booking where the 4 th had not shown up and as fast as I could pull out my credit card I was part of that group. People at St Andrews terrific and supportive in doing all they can to accomodate those wishing to experience playing "the mecca".

Interesting!
Everyone loves going to a vacation. It is a good activity or bonding with family and friends. It is very to check on the things you need to bring. Start with the most useful like clothes, toiletries and stuff you need. Select a vacation bag that is comfortable for your belongings and also comfortable for you to bring.

I traveled with Links Golf St Andrews as a single in 2007 and they were able to pair me up with a group of three other players when I booked. I had a great time and can't wait go back.

Great to see a recent post on a golf course in the U.S.! We certainly need to hear about more of those.
There are incredible resorts opening up in the Texas Hill Country area as well. The newest will be the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa opening in the spring of 2010. The buzz is building quickly about this property due to the recent golf announcement of the Valero Texas Open which will change venues in 2010 to the new TPC San Antonio course located at the resort – hopefully we will bring in some really big golfers too! I for one am happy just to have a new spot for friends and family to stay when visiting – it’s connected to a bird sanctuary and surrounded by rolling hills so the views will be incredible. It’s exciting to hear the direction my city is heading in so I thought I’d share!

Golf is a magical game and Krakow is a magical place. A match made in heaven I think. Its true the Poles know as much about Golf as Tiger knows about losing. But that is changing.

I had the greatest golfing weekend 22nd April 2007, when my son and his friend and i played the Strathtyrum, the New and of course the Old Course. What a fabulous place. We enjoyed every minute. I look forward to going back in the not too distant future.

I would like a tee time on the Old Course any time the last week of July, '08. I have talked with and written to many people who claimed they could arrange a tee time, but none of them turned out to be reliable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I visited Myrtle Beach last weekend and it took me 2 hours to drive down Hwy. 501. It was ridiculous. I feel sorry for the kids who attend Conway High School and have to deal with that mess every day. Other than that I had a great time at the beach.

Just think that the British Open is a pretty awful course. How come it's so dry and dusty looking, Not mention the tall weeds. I'm a real no-nothing about golf, but can't get over how bad these poor champs must play in such a dirty site. Some one please this.
