Lookaway Golf Club is one of Pennsylvania's best kept secrets
Last year I got to play a round at Lookaway Golf Club, located near the Pennsylvania-New Jersey border, less than an hour’s drive from Philadelphia. There are no tee-times and walking is encouraged as the club has a strong caddie program.
The 18-hole course plays more than 7,000 yards from the tips and was designed by legendary “Open Doctor” Rees Jones. Jones made perfect use of the site which boasts rolling hills, wetlands and 100-year-old trees. The layout is scenic and challenging, especially the finishing hole which is a longish par 4 where the uphill second shot has to carry wetlands and a number of well placed bunkers.
