I'm all for a USGA boycott. Nothing like economic pressure. If half the belly and long putter users who are members do not renew they'll have a major wakeup call. They want to fix the problem with golf they need to ban spring-faced, over-size drivers that are rendering many great course obsolete because they don't have room to go to 7000 plus yards. For what it's worth, I tossed my renewal notice in the garbage. I'm done with USGA. They don't care at all about the majority of golfers. If tradition were really the reason, they would make a rule requiring a shot of whiskey at the conclusion of every hole (18 shots in a bottle, for a traditional reason related to golf).

I agree with the USGA - anchored putters are an abomination against all that is ancient and good in golf.

I hear you, Frank. Too bad the USGA didn't hear you. I guess there's always hope they might come to their senses before 2016.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
I'm so against it, I'm advocating a boycott of the USGA by anyone who can affect their finances, including members, tournament sponsors, equipment companies, etc.
I notified them immediately that I won't be re-upping a membership.
Reason will not prevail in this case. Economics might. Or a successful court case.
