Station Casinos, Walters Golf offering dynamite Las Vegas golf package this fall
Most people when they book Las Vegas golf trip think about staying on the Strip. And while there’s nothing wrong with that, they might want to consider some of the other casino resort hotels, especially if it makes it a little easier to get to the golf courses.
Over the years, I’ve enjoyed staying are the Station Casinos. They’re easy in and easy out, comfortable and offer many of the amenities as many of the big-name strip resorts do. And there are several options around town.
Which brings us to this: Walters Golf and Station Casinos are offering a pretty affordable golf package right now. For as little as $199, you can choose from the Palace Station Hotel & Casino, Boulder Station Hotel & Casino or Fiesta Rancho Hotel & Casino for a three night, two-round golf package at Royal Links Golf Club and Desert Pines Golf Club.
As a bonus, Station Casinos offers some really nice sports books, which in the fall, means you can wager on football games and play golf at the same time.
There are plenty of other entertainment options, too. Palace Station, for example, features comedian Louie Anderson among others. Boulder Station has an 11-screen movie theater. And North Las Vegas’ Fiesta Rancho, known as the “Royal Flush Capital of the World,” offers one heck of a Mexican buffet.
Of course, this is just the beginning. All of them have outstanding gaming, restaurants, bars and lounges as well as themes that make each one unique.
The golf courses are unique as well.
Royal Links is collection of holes that were inspired by the courses that have played host to the British Open. So you’ll get your chance to challenge the 17th on the Old Course at St. Andrews, or the Postage Stamp hole at Royal Troon. You’ll really dig the old castle style clubhouse, too, which offers a seemingly endless variety of Scotches, ales and beers.
Desert Pines is a wonderfully conditioned Dye Design course that sets up a Carolina/Las Vegas feel with terrific bentgrass greens. In fact, thousands of Carolina Pines were imported for the course, which features plenty of mounding, ponds and even a double-decker covered range that’s lighted.
