More flight options for Branson, Missouri golf trip
Here’s some news regarding one of my favorite quirky golf destinations – Branson, Mo.
Come next year, Southwest Airlines will be flying into Branson, making it pretty accessible. The airport there is pretty new, and already Branson offers non-stop service through eight major cities and one-stop service to over 100 cities nationwide through current low-cost carriers, including Air Tran, Branson Express and Frontier.
Air Tran, by the way, which was purchased by Southwest, announced in January it would continue service to Branson. Southwest will be flying into the Branson Airport beginning in early 2013 and it will replace Air Tran jets at that time.
Bottom line is that it looks like there will be more convenient choices going into Branson.
So why should you consider a Branson golf trip?
First off, it’s beautiful over there in the Ozarks, and there are several high quality golf courses that take advantage of that. Among them is Branson Creek Golf Club, which was just named to Golf Magazine’s Annual Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S., taking the No. 1 spot in Missouri and a spot among the best public courses in the nation.
You’ll also like Payne Stewart Golf Club, Murder Rock and Ledgestone Golf Club among others. And right now, they’re offering some good deals on late summer and fall packages.
Best of all, if you like G-rated entertainment, this is your place. The shows on the Strip really are entertaining, and there’s something for every taste. Just don’t expect to get anything stronger than a Coke at the shows.
