Save on last minute golf vacation to Mayakoba, Mexico
School doesn’t begin for another three weeks or so, so if you’re looking for a last minute golf vacation idea for the family, the timing might be right for Mexico.
Specifically, the Fairmont Mayakoka on the Riviera Maya in Mexico is offering free golf to juniors with an accompanying adult. It’s part of the AAA Five Diamond resort’s “100 Days of Summer” promotion, and the golf comes at the resort’s El Camaleon Golf Club.
The course is one of Greg Norman’s better designs, and it hosts a PGA Tour event, the Mayakoba Golf Classic, which is played in February opposite the Accenture Match Play.
The setting for Mayakoba and El Camaleon is nothing short of spectacular. Set along Mexico’s Caribbean coast, the course and resort run along natural mangrove forests, which are home to all kinds of natural species of wildlife. The resort is also bordered by man-made canals that serve as a waterway between hotels and the golf course.
In addition, Fairmont Mayakoba is offering a number of other activities like exploring the property’s exotic natural setting and unique Mayan culture. These activities include: guided ecological tours of the resort, star-gazing, cooking classes and Mayan tasting menus, fitness programs and spa treatments.
Summer rates at Fairmont Mayakoba start from $159 per room, per night, for information or to book a reservation, call 800-441-1414 or visit Fairmont.com/Mayakoba. The free kids offer is good through Aug. 30.
