Summer is a great time to play golf in Kauai, Hawaii
Summer is a great time for a golf trip to Hawaii. It’s almost always cheaper to play and stay in the summer, but it’s not like the Southern mainland. Hawaii’s weather is pretty much perfect year-round.
A good example is the Garden Island of Kauai, which is one of my favorite spots in the world to play golf.
The Kauai golf destination – a cooperative made up of five world-class courses and three resorts – is offering several summer golf specials, including the Kauai Golf Challenge package.
For $435, the Kauai Golf Challenge package includes three rounds at any of these five outstanding courses – Kauai Lagoons Golf Club (recently re-opened and more spectacular than ever), Puakea Golf Course, the legendary Prince Course at Princeville Golf Club, the spectacularly renovated Makai Golf Club and Poipu Bay Golf Course (former home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf). It also includes a 10 percent discount on regularly-priced merchandise in addition to a 15 percent discount on its regular green fees. At Puakea, guest can receive a $50 golf shop credit good for use on merchandise, rental clubs, or green fees.
Packages can be purchased at any of the participating courses and there are no restrictions on the day or time of rounds played. Rounds are non-transferable and must be used within 30 days of purchase. There are also individual specials at each of the courses.
Hawaii is also easier to get to these days, especially for those on the East Coast. Earlier this summer, Hawaiian Airlines launched daily service from New York’s Kennedy Airport and United Airlines now has a daily flight from Washington Dulles Airport.
For more information about the Kauai Golf Challenge or individual resort packages, contact any of the courses.
