Attention early risers: GolfNow.com offering first-off tee times
If you like to play early and fast, you’re going to like this new feature from GolfNow.com. On select courses in select markets right now, GolfNow.com is offering first-off tee times. If you don’t mind getting up well before the crack of dawn, this is the way to go for so many reasons.
You have to promise to play with purpose if you grab one of these, though, because the first group off is the pace-setter at all golf courses. I have, in fact, seen opening fivesomes at some places that get done in about three hours, and if you’re part of that, or behind it, it’s wonderful.
I learned about fast play in a golf marathon last week, and we averaged under two hours a round. That pace is a little hectic, but somewhere in between is pretty nice and leaves most of the rest of the day to do anything you want, including taking a nap.
It’s also the coolest part of the day, which I can really appreciate here in southeast Texas. We’re supposed to hit 102 today with humidity close to the same number. Grab a 6:30 a.m. tee time here, and you have a chance to be off the course before it gets near triple digits.
Anyway, GolfNow.com is starting this off in Orlando, Fla., Cleveland and Toronto at facilities like Orange Lake, Pleasant Valley C.C. and Newcastle Golf and Country Club respectively.
Just go to GolfNow.com/Play1st and check it out.
