Celebrating Cinco de Mayo with golf, drink and fajitas at Troon North in Arizona
Living in Texas and playing a lot of golf in Arizona at great venues like Troon North, I’m well aware of the importance of Cinco de Mayo. It’s the day I get to eat Mexican food and drink Margaritas without guilt – in honor of Mexican Independence, of course.
Adding a little golf to the mix makes it even better, of course. Sounds like the perfect weekend to get to Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. (Check out my review of the Pinnacle Course here.)
Not only are there two great plays – the Monument Course and the Pinnacle Course – but Troon North’s Dynamite Grille is a pretty cool place to hang out at, too, and they’re offering some specials for this weekend.
This Friday through Sunday, you can get beef or chicken fajitas for $10 each, and shrimp fajitas for $12. If you’re not familiar with fajitas, well, this is as good a time as any to learn about them. Let’s just say it’s better than Taco Bell.
To wash it down, they’re offering buckets of beer for $15 and $20 (imports), and pitchers of Margaritas for $12.
Just remember to drink responsibly. (This message brought to you by the thirsty and always hungry Accidental Golfer.)
By the way, you can learn a little more about Scottsdale golf at GolfArizona.com’s Phoenix/Scottsdale destination guide.
