Wine and golf make for ideal Sarasota, Florida combo
Here’s something that might be worth checking out: The Florida Winefest & Auction is going to be conducted April 12-15 in Sarasota. This festival celebrates fine wine, dining and sunsets, and if you’re like me, you’ll figure out a way to pair golf with it.
The event feature 19 wine venues and creative food and wine pairings by award-winning chefs. There’s going to be an auction of fine limited-edition wines, rare vintages and boutique wines. Vintners and proprietors from around the world will personally introduce their spectacular wines, many of which have not been in Florida.
Fortunately, the Sarasota area is also rich in golf. There are more than 80 courses in the area, and there’s a pretty good variety.
For example, if you want to play a classic layout, you can check out the British Course at Bobby Jones Golf Complex in Sarasota. It’s a Donald Ross design that opened in 1927.
In any event, there’s plenty more good golf courses to choose from, and you can get some really good rates at FloridaGolf.com’s Sarasota/Bradenton destination guide.
And to purchase tickets for Winefest or for additional information, you can visit FloridaWinefest.org or call 800-216-6199.
