Football, poker and golf: Check out the Football Legends event in Las Vegas
If you’re worried about the NFL lockout, worry no more. Pro Legends Golf and Walters Golf has an event that might quench your pro football fix – at least until they get this labor mess worked out. It’s called the Football Legends $1,000,000 Shootout in Las Vegas, and you’re invited.
The event, which will be held June 2-6 and is sponsored by the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, will be conducted in Las Vegas with rounds of golf at Desert Pines Golf Club and Royal Links Golf Club. You’ll get to party and play golf with NFL names like Ed “Too Tall” Jones, Billy Joe Tolliver, Paul Warfield, Ricky Watters, Ken Houston, Rickey Jackson and a lot of other guys many of us grew up watching.
In all, there will be more than 60 players who will join the foursomes.
Each participant also will have four qualifying chances to hit a shot worth $1 million.
Both golf courses are Dye designs. Desert Pines is a parkland course that features thousands of imported Carolina Pines, lakes and bentgrass greens. Royal Links is a links-style course that pays tribute to the venues of the British Open.
The registration fee is $2,195 before May 15, and it includes tournament green fees, four nights at the MGM Grand, a poker tournament, awards banquet, and a cocktail party alongside NFL legends. There also will be prizes, gifts and transfers to and from the golf courses and hotels.
