They've got a golf time machine at San Diego's Rancho Bernardo Inn Resort & Spa
Ever wonder what it’s like to play with hickory-shafted golf clubs and dress in vintage knickers, wearing a vest and tie? You can get that chance at the Rancho Bernardo Inn Resort & Spa in San Diego. In fact, every Tuesday, they run a special event where guests can play the course with hickory sticks provided by the resort. It’s a trip back to the 1920s.
Right now, though, through June 30, Rancho Bernardo Inn is offering its Classic Hickory Package, which includes a night of accommodations, unlimited golf, a hickory barbecue lunch and a few other surprises.
The Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Course, which has hosted both LPGA and PGA Tour events, adds to the experience. Designed by William F. Bell and opened in 1962, it’s a classic resort course with four sets of tees. Straightforward and enjoyable, you’ll feel right at home with those hickory sticks, albeit on a 21st century maintained golf course that was recently renovated.
The resort also has 287 guest rooms, the heralded Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn and terrific dining at El Bizcocho, which has been voted one of the city’s best restaurants.
Packages start at $299 per night. For more information or to reserve a room, click here.
