Take a cool golf trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
This week I’m on the road in South Carolina, starting in the Greenville area and working my way to Hilton Head Island at the Sea Pines and Palmetto Dunes resorts. The golf trip culminates with a round on the famous Harbour Town Golf Links.
One of the things that makes this journey so enticing is the time of year. Though we have a slight chance of rain during the week, temperatures will be mild, meaning it’s time to break out the slacks and forgo perspiration. In fact, fall is a terrific time to visit South Carolina, particularly Hilton Head Island, which is offering some attractive stay-and-play packages.
You can get three nights in a two-bedroom condo (for four golfers), including golf at Harbour Town, Heron Point by Pete Dye and the Ocean Course for as little as $160 per person, depending on the time of year. (Hilton Head Island is also a good winter and spring destination as well.)
