Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia is a golf and outdoors paradise
This may be a little early in the year to hit the links at Reynolds Plantation, which is located between Atlanta and Augusta, Ga., but even as the courses struggle to come out of dormancy, it’s evident that this wonderful lakefront property is a golf Mecca.
There are seven courses at Reynolds Plantation, including the new Pete Dye layout that has yet to open. Five of them are open to resort guests, and they include designs by noted architects like Tom Fazio, Rees Jones, Bob Cupp and Jack Nicklaus. Not a one of them is a dud, and they are so different from each other that you could spend a couple of weeks here and never get bored.
The Rees Jones-designed Oconee Course on Lake Oconee is particularly impressive with its shoreline holes, elevation changes and cascading brooks and creeks.
Combine the great golf with a ton of other stuff to do - like fishing, boating and hunting - plus world-class accommodations (like the Ritz-Carlton) and outstanding restaurants, and you’ve got one heck of a vacation.
