Bad Golfer alert: Have we got a road trip for you
If you believe that golf goes better with beer, cigars and ugly shorts, then we have a trip for you.
It’s called the Divine Nine, which is this crazy golf excursion in the Carson City, Nev., area for the past 10 years. The rotation includes courses like Genoa Lakes Golf Club, Dayton Valley and Sunridge Golf Club.
This thing is about as insane as a buddy golf trip can get – two holes each on nine golf courses as fast as you can play them.
They go from course to course on a shuttle that is stocked full of liquor and snacks and semi-obnoxious people.
Over on BadGolfer.com, writer W. Warren Phillips shares the story of the Divine 9 road trip. He chronicles the shots, the lost balls, the triple bogeys, the birdies, and apologies and tragedy of running out of libations.
This golf marathon is a heck of a lot more fun than a real marathon (I know this without ever attempting a real marathon). It is survival of the fittest of a different kind.
