I live in NY, and I don't know if I've tried Tarry Brae, but I didn't realize it was such a pleasing track. Oh, and why is the Concord closed for the season?

As for the bead-and-breakfasts, I can tell you what part of the problem is. Such places are often owned by liberals, as many of them have a romantic "dream" of owning a b&b; I actually knew a guy like this. The problem is that liberals tend to be cheap and not very conscientious (they're also ridden with other unpleasant frailties). You can scoff, but that is the truth.

Supposedly the Concord courses are closed for the season. I played the Monster in '06, and Grossinger's the same day--went to uncharted territory at Tarry Brae this time and was glad I did so.

Did they plow under The Monster and The International at the Concord? Grossinger's is still open, right? Another surprisingly good track is right near Kiamesha Lake, what is it called? Oh, yeah, Kutsher's. Typical 1950s build, but worth whatever they are charging.
