I stand corrected. Who has the US Open record and where ws it set?

I think the rest of my post is on the mark.

Golf records don't mean much, just as thoroughbred racing "records" have little relevance since races are run on many different surfaces, terrain and under many different conditions. Winning is what counts in both sports.

The US Open record is 12 under--2000; Furyk finished at 8 under in '03.

The US Open record is ten under par, but Jim Furyk didn't set it at Winged Foot last year. The point is that records ARE meaningless unless they are set on the same course as the previous records in identical conditions.

The masters' committee decided a few years back that they don't want the modern equipment to turn Augusta National into a pitch and putt course. Looks like they succeeded.

I looked at the cut line Alex and thought I was looking at an LPGA leader board. How can records be broken if they keep tweaking the damned course? This means that all records held previously need to be trashed every time they change the setup, or the records have no meaning.
