In praise of the late Jim Langley, venerable head professional at Cypress Point Club
Mr. Jim Langley, for 34 years the head professional at Cypress Point Club, has passed away.
Langley retired in 2006, but is still remembered fondly throughout the golf world. A decade into his CPC tenure he was hit by an automobile, and lost the use of his right arm. However he maintained his position for nearly a quarter-century after the accident.
He was a very giving and extremely kind man, totally self effacing. Golf has lost a great gentleman and ambassador.
