Canyons Resort and Utah Olympic Park offer incredible non-golf thrills in Park City, Utah
The Park City golf scene has exploded in the last dozen years, with scads of high-end private clubs now on-line, and all sorts of public access options. In fact, Soldier Hollow in nearby Heber City is the host of this year’s Pub-Links Championship.
However there are myriad non-golf thrills available in this gorgeous mountain enclave, about 30 minutes from Salt Lake City. The Olympic Park has a brand-new adventure course this year, where intrepid souls harness up, and start balancing their way across all sorts of beams, wires, ladders and platforms, either 30 feet off the ground, or even higher. There’s also the chance to ride on the Olympic Bobsled Course, which is like the hairiest roller-coaster you can ever imagine, multiplied by three!
Just a couple miles away in Canyons Resort, which offers the most amazingly varied and challenging ski terrain in winter, and is now catching up in terms of summer offerings. New this year is their Zip Tour, featuring the granddaddy of them all, a mega-zip that covers more than 2,000 feet, is more than 200 feet above the forest, and allows daredevil zip-liners the opportunity to zoom over the conifers below at speeds approaching 50 mph!
After the adventure course, bobsled and Canyons Zip Tour, a a 50-yard pitch to a tight pin over water will never again seem quite as daunting.
