Good to know that the mini-golf greens were true that day =)

Seriously, Vag, it is an amazing feeling, so congratulations. Happened to me once in a club championship, with a birdie on 18. I'm giving local tournament golf a run again this Summer, so might be that I join your club...Keep the birdies dropping.

Sorry, no one cares but your mother and she will forget about it tomorrow.

I think one of the biggest differences between good athletes and great competitors is the way they react to that kind of pressure. The best competitors I know will make birdie on that hole, while the rest of us end up with your double bogey. I think the key for the "rest of us" is to write our score down, but don't add it up until the day is done! My best round ever was a 64 on a par 73 and I had NO IDEA what I was shooting. I was just playing every shot as it came and socializing in between.

I also see it with my mom every time she's having a good round. She stops on the 18th tee, adds up her score and then usually makes a mess of the 18th and comes away frustrated. I just can't convince her to stop adding it up!

You have to admit that it's a great game that can make you choke when nobody else gives a hoot!
