A Good Friday, Indeed

Though I lived there happily for nearly a decade as a young adult, my visits to Manhattan are few and far between. But I was up there a few weeks ago to meet with the publisher and editors of my new book, and view the galleys–basically the pages in a loose-leaf form–prior to printing. The book looks fantastic, and PETE DYE–GOLF COURSES will be a handsome addition to coffee-tables all over the world upon publication this autumn. Why the confidence? Because tens of thousands have been pre-sold to private and resort courses in the Caribbean, Central America, the Far East and throughout the U.S. Hopefully a few dozen will also make their way out of various Barnes & Nobles, Borders, and independent book stores, as well as personalized copies at my own website.
It’s now officially spring, and the book will be out in late summer, so it’s time to bang the drum a little bit. Today, and sporadically over the next few months, we’ll be giving away sunglasses to those interested blog-readers who can correctly answer a Pete Dye-related question. Basically, I’ll take all the correct responses to any given question, and pick one lucky winner out of the proverbial hat. Then we’ll repeat the process ten days or two weeks later, throughout spring and summer.
In the writing of this new book I’ve come to learn that Pete Dye is a fascinating man, a true American original. I hope I’ve done his design legacy well in my new book, and that those of you who choose to participate fare well in these contests. As always, great success to you and your new book. If you want an honest book review (undeliverable by my fellow Travelgolf.com bloggers), look me up.

Get the good sunglasses like Maui Jims. No cheep knock offs like they sell on the Tybee Pier.

To answer to your 1st question, "How many golf courses are in the new Pete Dye book". I say 80.

See, smarter than you think.

To answer your second question, "How old is Pete Dye". I say 80. Spot on.

Dude you need harder questions.
