A small, side issue only but I felt compelled to comment.
Speaking as a European golf fan, a European and someone who grew up during the 'Golden Age' of European golf it seems to me that perhaps only a non-European would consider the very eminent Mr Faldo our 'best'.
One suspects that (having read Life Swings - Nick Faldo's autobiography and seen multitudinous interviews) even Faldo himself would most likely regard Severiano Ballesteros as the best and greatest, not to mention most dominant player Europe has produced.
6 majors to 5 is a misnomer, try 30 worldwide wins Vs 80 odd.

I think Nick Faldo's comments regarding Woody Austin on today's CBS coverage of the PGA championship were totally out of line and uncalled for. To say the lights are on but nobody's home in front of an audience of millions was not only hurtful but, I feel, also libelous. He apologized later in the broadcast but it was too little, too late. I hope Woody protests and that CBS reconsiders having Mr. Faldo represent them on air.

Aaahhh, Irony. When keeping company with Ken Brown in the 70s and 80s, Faldo could be described as a self-centered prick at best. Seems that a bunch of lost tourneys gave him humility, and David Leadbetter put some spit and polish on the lad, and now we have this Harrison-Ford-stud-muffin that people can't get enough of. Happy Birthday, you Nick.
