I live in Hawaii and I remeber when wie first came out, it is ashame that she is disgracing the sport of golf but i am not surprised> u could tell her parents where after that money from nike and i hope nike isnt having any buyers remorse i don t care how old what race u are when u put yourself in the public eye u r fair game and it aint are fault she flat out sucks and has not guts or skill or any ass FLAT like her game

...stepping onto my soapbox.... Michelle Wie wants to be a mega-star. She wants the spotlight on her. So like all mega-stars, Michelle Wie is under a microscope. she is a marketable product. And good marketing of mega-stars translates into mega-bucks. Every time she enters a tournament, whether it be a women's or men's, she will be more than just a footnote. As a mega-star, we expect great things from her. The true measure of greatness is how one performs under the spotlight. One person shines while the other melts. At this point in her career, I would have to say that Wie is melting. She needs to seek a shady place and work quietly honing her skills. In other words, she needs to get her game back to where it was a few years ago and most of all, win a damn tournament. To those that say we should not be critical, I say people who make excuses for her are ignorant and annoying. We the fans, who pay money for the entertainment, are and should be allowed to boo and hiss a poor performance. Professional golf, like all professional sports, is entertainment. Bad movies get bad reviews. Bad teams get booed off the courts. The Yankees lose 11 straight and get booed off the field, in New York. Bad golf get criticized too, as it should be. That's entertainment. My advice as a fan of golf, Michelle, shut up for a while and start playing some good golf.

I believe putt4par has posted that he is a Canadian living in Edmonton in the province of Alberta.

I don't know about his racial heritage, nor does it matter to me.

He's basically a pretty good fellow with whom Judge and I butt heads on a lot of occasions.

Ease off, my friend. Don't take things you read on these blogs so seriously.

Many of those posting here, myself included, like to play "devil's advocate."

I'm going to play psychologist here. I suspect that one reason we realists have drawn your ire is that you blame us for creating a negative atmosphere that has led to Bubbles' demise. But the truth is quite the opposite: It was you Wiebots who created a pressure cooker for the girl by articulating ridiculously high expectations.

If everyone had been like me, Bubbles would have been told that, because she was a girl, it was ridiculous to expect her to be able to compete on the men's tour. Then, even if she had been foolish enough to pursue that course, she would have proceeded with extremely little pressure. But you Wiemen piled it on, setting the bar so high that there was no prospect of her being able to clear it. YOU are the ones who have sunk the USS Bubbles.

Lastly, you really act as if your happiness is hitched to Bubbles' star. In reality, however, her success or failure isn't going to make a bit of difference in your life.

Yes, it does seem like old Putt-Putt has lost his grip and gone off the deep end.

He has gone into his attack mode. No longer is he the personification of the gentle Irish setter romping ahead of his master.

Now he is a snarling pit bull, threatening all in sight, even the venerable John Z who was just making a few salient points.

He and almost all of the remaining Wiebots can't seem to come to the realization that they have backed the wrong horse. Hell, I've bet on beaten favorites at the track hundreds of times, as has any horseplayer.

Wie-wee's, you've got to move on! Bubbles is now just another chapter in tha ledger of failed phenoms. Maybe you guys can glom onto the 12 year old from South Africa.

Yesterday during the weather delay at Muirfield, we talked with a marshal about Bubbles situation. She said that BJ's conduct at a PGA event would almost certainly have resulted in a two-stroke penalty and a stern warning to keep silent and outside the ropes

We saw the last four of Mark Wilson's seven consecutive birdies which he rang up on the outward nine. He shot 29 for the first nine. We thought he might approach the course record, but he came back to reality on the inward half.
