Vanna has the best job on TV. They taped all of the shows in four months, then she kicks back in Arizona for the rest of the year. Not bad for $12,000,000 a year. I forgot about her clothing line. I dunno, do you think Michelle's wrists can take the punishment of turning those letters around?

She birdied 3 of the first four holes in today's (Wednesday) pro-am, but followed with a bogey, four double bogeys and a triple bogey for a nine-over 81.

Someone posted Michelle is now "back." Based on a few low rounds in a weak field tournament? Wie is not anywhere close in ability to the top women players these days- let alone the men.

Actually I have a good match play 36 hole event I'd like to see. Michelle Wie against Alexis Thompson. That would finally mean plan B had arrived.........on to Michelle's next career as fashion model and wheel spinner for the by then retired Vanna. Hey- I wanna buy a vowel.

The biggest difference between Michelle and Paula is what in the space between the ears. I lost count how many times Michelle had important five foot putts and couldn't make them. However, it is strange that in some of the past PGA events some totally unknown would shoot a course record and a career best for 36 holes to have a minus stroke cut line. Then he would shoot 74 and 77 the next two days. At the Reno-Tahoe tournament I'll bet there will be a very low score during the first and second round where some golfer will be 12 under after the second day. Michelle comment of "I am not concerned about making the cut, I am just trying to make more birdies than bogeys." I am sure this made some guy that would love to be playing in the tournament real happy. If she does not make enough money in the Canadian Open, I only see a repeat of 2007. I really do not think that she wants to join the LPGA because it will take away too many opportunities to play on other tours. I doubt that Michelle has ever had to make a decision on her own. Maybe the decision to go jogging in Palo Alto in the dark of morning and jog backwards before tripping over something that she didn't even know what it was, (so she said.) If she insists to be a part time student and a part time golfer, I give her one more year before the money will start drying up.

Why do you always make strange claims like these? At the end of Paula's amateur career, she was literally on the brink of winning an LPGA Tour tournament. As Michelle turned pro, she was on the brink of, well, nothing.

Paula proved herself to be a top female amateur, and is now one of the best female pros in the world (Michelle is 244th, very impressive). Of course, Michelle has played men's tournaments, on one occasion almost making the cut, but mostly embarassing herself, sometimes greatly so (hell, sometimes she embarasses herself eversomuch on the LPGA Tour). But how does this make Michelle 'clearly' a better player? You seem to be belittling Paula for taking the conventional route onto the tour - dude, there's nothing wrong with moving up through the ranks, conquering each level as you go; in fact it's far better than trying to bypass all that by going straight to the top level, then achieving nothing.

Jim, you really do talk rubbish. Paula is a very impressive golfer; she has PROVED herself. What has Michelle REALLY done? Her career has been basically one disappointment after another. She has not lived up to expectations; she is now 18, almost 19, and she hasn't won a tournament yet. She has missed her chance to be the LPGA's youngest winner, and the fact is, even if she does win before she turns 19, it's no big deal anymore.

You seem to have taken this 'clearly a better player' thing for granted, just as some atheists would never question whether Jesus Christ actually ever existed or not.

Dave--Michelle Wie was clearly better than Paula Creamer the last two years or so that they were amateurs.

Raymond--She would rather be playing the final LPGA Major, but it didn't look like she would be invited. Since she played so well last week, she wanted another event before the Canadian. Her goal will be a simple one. Play PGA Reno at a level high enough to give her a win in the LPGA Canadian. Missing the cut by 6 wuld be a decent resut for her.

She has one good tournament where she drained what 3 shots from the fairway and things go back to normal? She will be so outclassed by these guys at the Reno that it won't even be funny. Even though most of the great PGA players will be at the Bridgestone, the field will be made up of good PGA Tour pros and some good Nationwide players. She will miss the cut by at least 6 strokes. She isn't even close to PGA material.

Well, I was never sucked in by all the excess Wie hype, so I never actually believed this. When Michelle was 15 and the hype around her was probably at its peak, Paula had just joined the tour and quickly became the youngest winner of a multiple-round tournament in LPGA history at the tender age of 18.

So, how on earth was Michelle 'clearly better' than Paula? You can't justify what you're saying, and although I have no way of proving you wrong, I can point out that your argument is rather weak.
