Is is not obvious Ron? If it hadn't been for the the founding fathers and their darned Declaration of Independence, then there would be a United States. And if there wasn't a United States there wouldn't have been a celebration. And if there wasn't a celebration then Minnesotans wouldn't get drunk watching the festivities, etc., etc.

Now that I think about it, I should have blamed John Adams and Thomas Jefferson for this tragedy.

What do the fireworks have to do with it? Why don't you blame rubber (on the tires) or gas/electricity (the fuel) or gravity (the atmospheric influence)" Were they shooting off bottle rockets? Lighting m80s? If not, then the headline is misleading.
