The thing that gripes people about Wie is the attention she gets which is clearly undeserved. Two other similar cases that irritate me are all the Zach Johnson commercials and NBC spending so much time on Annika's eagle. Johnson is a very average player but one would think he is Tiger Woods based on the number of commercials he is in. Annika holed a 6 iron for 78 but the way NBC treated it you'd have thought she won the tournament.

Wow big Fred,

6'-9" and 350 pounds. There are meds available that can stunt your growth; otherwise, you are going to have some serious knee and joint issues awaiting you. The largest man ever on record grew to be 8'-11", but died at 22 years old and could not even stand up. By reading your posts about Wie, it is clear that your Brain has already been seriously damaged and is likely to be irreversable. But you may want to check into anti-growth meds, because you could likely break your neck or skull now just by falling down.

Fred: Is "gals" seriously sexist now? What about calling women over 21, "girls"? Demeaning? I'll stick to "women" and "females" to be safe.

Regarding this phenom in Michelle Wie. It's safe to say she's overrated beyond comprehension. Started her young career scoffing at the LPGA tour? Um, I think being a faorly good tour player is looking great just about now.

As an aside, I have no problem with women (PC'd up for you, Fred) on the PGA tour, absolutely none. But they do have to earn their place there. Michelle Wie? Not even close.

As for Bubbles, the point is that she was supposed to transcend Woods' greatness, in that she was to be an Amazon golfer who would topple sex barriers. And she and her family did their best to encourage this perception. So she deserves the criticism.

Say Judge did I touch a raw nerve. I can tell where you are coming from by the you call these women, gals. Anyway that is beside the point because when you talk about that ninth hole not many will proform well. I might point out a few male professional golfers the week before did a similar thing and their game didn't do any better. I guess that is a memory block huh? It is very hard to forget a situation where on one hole you throw the tournament away like that by anyone. Confidence it probably the most important thing on a Golf course. Even the great Tiger Woods have suffered from it only he has recovered quicker and we all know Wie is not a Tiger Woods. As for your comment about breaking necks, skulls and etc, I don't think so, 6'9" 350 lbs says you can try.

As for the ninth hole, no, it was not her problem. Even if Bubbles had parred that hole, she still would have missed the cut by two strokes.

Fred, you seem to have so glommed onto Bubbles that you regard criticism of her as a personal attack. But, face it, it should be obvious now even to the dullest among us that she is no phenom. She is a pretty good LPGA golfer, that's it. Yes, she does have the potential to be an excellent one, but so what? So do lots of other gals.
