It is perhaps the best thing that can happen for the game of golf when two of the best exponents of the game try and play a positive role in developmnental activities in the society. Golf is often considered an elitist sport and this is the best way improve the image of the sport. Both Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods are role models for millions of youngsters and it is absolutely wonderful to see both of them devoting a good amount of their time off the field doing charitable work. They maybe the fiercest of rivals on the golf course but no one is complaining when they try to outdo each other in trying to do some good for the larger cause. Of course I am sure they are not looking to compete with each other and it is purely an act of conscience of wanting to give back the respect that they have earnt from the society for some of their stellar performances. This precedent set by these two great golfers(and a few others in the past) is sure to urge on other professionals to do their bit for a good cause. While one must confess there are quite a few golfers who have been invloved with various social causes, but considering the kind of money that is flowing around in the game, these guys must not shy away from their social role because they can bring about a difference. While it may not be a compulsion it definitely must be considered their social obligation and one can only appreciate the effort put in by the likes of Tiger and Phil to do their bit. Like the PGA Tour tagline says: These Guys are Good! Andy Brown http://golfswingsecretsrevealed.com/blog/
