Vijay Singh is taking lessons from Tiger Woods

Tuesday November 28, 2006 | 15:18:15 223 words, 3743 views

Imitation is considered the sincerest form of flattery.

I guess Vijay Singh must consider Tiger Woods PGA Tour ‘07 fair game as he has created not only the initial Vijay Singh Pro Golf Game but now an updated version more simply entitled, “Pro Golf 2007″. Vijay has taken his game in a slightly different direction, preferring not to compete with Woods head-to-head but laying up instead on the mobile frontier.

I wonder if dropping Singh’s name out of the title will inhibit or spur on this golf game’s growth?

Tiger Woods has recently announced his venture into golf course development. No sooner has the ink dried than Vijay Singh has plans on the table for his new Natadola Golf Course in Fiji.

Imitating Tiger Woods? One could do worse than to follow Woods’ business model!

But now it looks as if Vijay has a “one-up” on Tiger as he has recently been inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. One step at a time, Vijay.

Seems that the only thing Vijay can’t copy from Tiger is his golf game. Singh has only one tournament win this season and Woods was on a roll, capturing two majors and a slew of other tournament victories (eight in total).

Not that anyone should have any sympathy for Vijay Singh. He’s a towering success in the golf world.

No Wie bashing for a change, whoa! what's going on?

Anyhow, it is refreshing nevertheless.

Getting back on topic.

Do you think Singh lost his fire this year? Or old age simply caught up to him?

I don't think that it's a loss of passion or old age, as he seems as determined as ever and is in great shape. I suspect that it's his putting -- it usually is with him. He's not the greatest putter, and, like everyone else, he only really runs the table when his putting is on.

I don't think that anyone but Tiger Woods can keep plugging away, winning event after event. Vijay has come close and I applaud his work ethic.

Singh has many good years ahead of him and, when Tiger Woods and Elin decide (perhaps) to have kids or Woods gets bored with the sport, Vijay will move right in.

If Phil Mickelson would ever play a bit more conservatively, he would have a shot too.

Vijay started his golf course development a couple of years back. Tiger just announced his plans. Please verify your facts.

Actually, Tiger Woods decided to move forward with his design company after officially forming Tiger Woods Design in 2005.
