McDonald's introduces new Asian Salad for LPGA Battle at Bulle Rock
She never tires, she’s only sixteen. This week’s sectional qualifier for Michelle Wie was just a tune-up for her battle against Annika Sorenstam at this week’s McDonald’s LPGA Championship.
Who will be under more scrutiny, Wie or Sorenstam? Will Annika have to whistle to get the media’s attention? “Hey, I’m over here!”
Even though Wie did not succeed in the purest sense of the word (no ticket to Winged Foot) she still did a terrific job; hats off to her!
In contrast, Sorenstam has hoisted this particular trophy three times in a row, last year defeating the sixteen-year-old Hawaiian by a mere three strokes.
Will Wie feel more confident this week knowing that she was only five strokes from obtaining a pass to the U.S. Open? I guess we’ll have to wait and see the ballyhoo unfold on The Golf Channel.
As a sidenote, Morgan Pressel must be excited about teeing it up with Sorenstam in first-round pairings. Lorena Ochoa Paula Creamer, Ai Miyazato and Christina Kim all get early tee-times but MW fans are in luck because TGC will televise her final nine holes of play.
