Mark O’Meara said Sunday that Tiger Woods’ game is looking good at that he’s ready to return to the PGA Tour. O’Meara, a close friend with Woods since the world No. 1 joined the tour, did not say, however, that Woods would play at the Accenture Match Play Championship at the end of this month. Rumors have circulated recently that Woods would return to competition at the event, following the birth of his second child last weekend …

Michelle Wie saw what looked to be her first victory as an LPGA Tour member slip away Sunday at the SBS Open. Wie had a three-stroke lead through 11 holes in the final round but wound up losing to Angela Stanford for her second consecutive runner-up finish in the event …

“Obviously, it’s not like I want to be second place all the time,” Wie told reporters. “But I think it was a good start. I played solidly. It’s just going to motivate me to work harder to go to the next level.”

Meanwhile, the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am will finish today following fierce rainstorms over the weekend. Dustin Johnson goes into the final round with a four-shot lead …

Until Michelle drops the "part time golfer" and "part time student" she will never win a tournament anywhere. Unfortunately, her mental game has not improved after 49 tournaments on the LPGA. The "last nine holes monkey" must get off her back before we will ever see her holding the trophy. When she is making $10,000,000 a year, I do not think she is very motivated to play golf, contrary to what she states. I do not see her winning any tournaments in 2009.
