Harrington wins second straight major at PGA Championship, while Ben Curtis' second-place finish earns him Ryder Cup spot

Padraig Harrington shot a 4-under-par 66 Sunday at Oakland Hill to win the PGA Championship, his second consecutive major victory after clinching the British Open title last month. Harrington, who defeated Sergio Garcia and Ben Curtis by two strokes, became the first European to win consecutive majors …

“I obviously hold a lot of European players who I grew up watching in high esteem,” he told the media. “To believe that I achieved something they hadn’t is very special.”

Meanwhile, Curtis’ runner-up finish earned him a place on the U.S. Ryder Cup team next month

“I love Ben Curtis a lot, and I love the fact he’s made the team,” U.S. captain Paul Azinger told reporters.
