Ernie Els ended a nearly four year winless drought on the PGA Tour yesterday with a victory at the Honda Classic. Els shot a 3-under-par 67 to defeat Luke Donald by a stroke for his first PGA Tour title in 48 starts …

“It’s been a long time coming,” Els told reporters. “It has to feel even sweeter, you know, losing so many tournaments and one now going my way.”

Meanwhile, Lorena Ochoa continued proving her dominance on the LPGA Tour this weekend with a command victory at the HSBC Women’s Champions. Ochoa defeated Annika Sorenstam by 11 strokes in her first start of 2008 …

“Sometimes there is just no explanation,” Ochoa told the media. “It just happens and it was a great win for me. Everything came together at the right place.”
