The Indo-Swede finally had a tournament win under the belt after many last round meltdowns. He is almost near the lead of the pack and it will be interesting to see how his game unfolds over the next three rounds. He just won his first trophy last year and he has set his sights on a possible spot in the Ryder Cup. Who knows, maybe a good season might just land him a spot. Presently he is ranked seventh and the top five ranking Europeans make it to the Ryder Cup squad. Perhaps Nick Faldo should keep an eye on him.
Many people were looking at Vijay to put on a strong show in defence of his title but right now he looks a little dazed by the wonderful setting and will probably push into top gear over the weekend.
