World No. 1 women’s golfer Lorena Ochoa has been honored as the AP Female Athlete of the Year. Ochoa became the first LPGA Tour player to exceed $4 million in earnings in one season this year and won her first major, the Women’s British Open at St. Andrews …
“There were a lot of people saying I wasn’t good enough, or that I couldn’t win a major, or when am I going to win a major,” Ochoa said after her victory on the Old Course. “And I always have taken all of the comments and understood very well because I didn’t win. I just think now it’s a big step forward. I did it, and there’s no more to say.”

Tiger Woods vs. Roger Federer - A golfer told me 9/10 people know who Tiger is and 9/10 people don't know who Roger Federer is. I said OK! Now just find me 1 on this planet who is willing to bet that in 2008 Tiger will win more majors than Roger? In 2008 Tiger will try to win the PGA Championship for the 2nd year in a row. GREAT! Roger in 2008 will try to win the Australian Open for the 3rd year in a row, the U.S. Open for the 5th year in a row, and Wimbledon for the 6th year in a row. Furthermore, if Roger wins 3/4 majors like he did in 06 and 07 he will be tha ALL TIME MAJORS LEADER in his sport at age 26.
