Michelle Wie regrets not sitting out 2007 LPGA Tour season

Wednesday October 10, 2007 | 07:25:49 am 107 words, 4143 views

Michelle Wie has said she regrets not taking the year off to recover from a wrist injury that contributed to her abysmal LPGA Tour season …

“The only thing I would do differently [is] I wouldn’t have played this year. It’s as simple as that,” Wie told reporters at the Samsung World Championship. “The only thing I did wrong this year is that I did not take my injuries as seriously as I should have.”

At TravelGolf.com, Tim McDonald writes about Gatlinburg Municipal Golf Course in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., a terrific public golf course that wows with views and tantalizes with a mixture of ease and difficulty.

Happy upcoming 18th birthday to Michelle Wie. Lord, I can't wait to see what the pigs on the internet have to say now.

So, she announces she shouldn't have played at all in 2007 on the eve of teeing-off in the 2007 Samsung, an elite 20-player field? This kid has no perspective at all, and that's putting it mildly.

Brooklyn,

I expressed your sentiments exactly on Stacy's blog.

Stanley, Wie Warrior number one, came up with some really bizarre rationalizations.

It would seem that if, by her own admission, she had very little business playing at all in 2007, what is she doing at the 20 player Samsung?

She'll now be able to say that she really wasn't ready for prime time if she plays poorly as usual at the Samsung.

Alex,
In her interview she stated that she is now healthy, wealthy and wise ...of course, she is having a lot of "fun" at Stanford. Lie we know...girls just wanna have fun. Hmm, let us see, four years at Stanford then another two years for post graduate work, then another six years for her doctorate and she will be 30 years old and ready to retire from the LPGA...that is if she ever joins. I found it interesting that "golly, gosh, gee" the LPGA qualifier was at the same time for the freshman to enter Stanford. Of course, Stanford had to be the number one priority because you are only a freshman one time at Stanford...I think I am going to get sick!! This bunny is really screwed up!
