David Duval to play in 2008 due to new PGA Tour rule; Colt Knost making pro debut in Texas
After David Duval and Dudley Hart were forced to miss a large part of the 2007 PGA Tour campaign due to helping their wives overcome medical situations, the PGA has announced that it has approved a new regulation that will offer medical extensions to players who deal with a family crisis, meaning they will have an exemption to play the 2008 season. Duval’s wife was put on bed rest due to complications with her pregnancy, while Hart’s wife had a serious illness. Duval’s wife and new child are now healthy, as is Hart’s wife. …
Colt Knost, who recently helped the U.S. to a Walker Cup victory to cap a stellar amateur career, will make his pro debut at the Valero Texas Open. Walker Cup teammate Dustin Johnson will also be making his first start out on the PGA Tour as a pro. …
